Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or simply looking to build a stronger foundation, this 3-week beginner series with Lisa Dantino will guide you through the fundamentals of mat Pilates in a supportive, welcoming environment. Each week explores key principles that help you move with confidence, ease, and deeper body awareness—so you can walk into any Pilates class feeling prepared and empowered.
Lisa will introduce the Six Key Principles of Pilates in a beginner-friendly way:
1. Breath
Learn how intentional breathing supports every movement. Inhale to prepare and lengthen; exhale to engage and stabilize—especially during effort.
2. Centering (Core Engagement)
Understand how to activate the deep core by drawing the navel toward the spine to protect the low back and create strength from within.
3. Concentration
Bring full attention to each movement, noticing which muscles activate and how the body aligns.
4. Control
Move deliberately—not with momentum—building strength, stability, and confidence through mindful, steady transitions.
5. Precision
Explore proper form, neutral spine, shoulder relaxation, and neck support to keep your practice safe and effective.
6. Flow
Learn how to link exercises together smoothly, creating a sense of rhythm and ease in your movement.
Throughout the series, Lisa will offer modifications, clear cues, and supportive instruction so every student can work at their own pace. This is the perfect place to ask questions, build strength, and gain the confidence to join regular mat Pilates classes.
Begin your Pilates journey with clarity, support, and a strong foundation.
