Join My Sister’s Place on Saturday, October 18th, for a community walk along the Metropolitan Branch Trail to raise awareness about domestic violence and support survivors and their families.
This interactive event invites participants to stop at local businesses along the trail for activities, purple-themed drinks, and opportunities to learn more about domestic violence services in the DC community. By walking together, we send a strong message: no one walks alone.

Why Attend?
Your participation directly supports My Sister’s Place, DC’s oldest domestic violence shelter and the only one serving the entire family—including survivors and their children. Proceeds will help provide emergency housing, counseling, workforce development, and long-term stability for families healing from abuse.

Join us for a self-paced walk starting and ending at Wunder Garten while visiting participating breweries and community partners along the trail. Along the way, enjoy purple-themed drinks, family-friendly activities, and survivor-centered art installations at Alethia Tanner Park.
Purchase a $10 passport to collect stamps at each stop. Each stamp equals one entry into our grand prize drawing!
