Thursday Night Live: Jazz on a Lower Level

Make your Thursday night unforgettable! Bring a lawn chair, savor delicious local eats, and soak up the sounds of Thursday Night Live—a free concert series happening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Come early to explore the Farmers Market starting at 5:00 p.m., and stick around afterward for the toe-tapping tunes of the Washington Municipal Band at 7:45 p.m. It’s an evening full of music, food, and community fun—you won’t want to miss it!

Jazz On A Lower Level is a Jazz trio organized by Gary McCurdy aka The Tubador who is also a retired Washington band director. Completing the trio are Craig McClenahan on keyboard, also a retired Washington band director, and and Iris Dahl on drums, who is a current senior at Washington Highschool.

The group is unusual and gets its name from the fact that the tuba is the lead instrument and will be carrying the melody rather than the bass line most of the time.
