Seed-starting meetup

While turning down the corners of the pages in seed catalogs and perusing the racks of seeds at the garden center gets us through the winter doldrums, I’m going to talk you through turning your ever-growing seed collection into plants. Wild idea, I know :)

At this meetup I’ll go over information helpful in planning—differences in cool and warm season plants and the pros and cons of indoor vs outdoor seed starting. We’ll also talk about proper care for seeds/seedlings and hardening off transplants.

After that we will plot out our seed starting plans on blank calendars using seed packet info and an online seed starting date calculator tool. We will time when to start different types of seeds and when to transplant, if starting indoors. If you have some seeds you would like to plant, bring those along, but they aren’t required.
