Join us for a FREE 3-day Arts and Sciences workshop celebrating the rich tradition of mask-making during the holiday season! Whether you're inspired by Christmas, New Year, Carnival, or cultural festivals around the world, this event is perfect for exploring holiday masks and their cultural significance.
Location: The Robert Toombs House, Washington GA
We'll feature a display showcasing mask traditions from various cultures and celebrations, highlighting their rich history and symbolic significance. Attendees will have the opportunity to craft their own masks suitable for holiday parties, masquerade balls, or seasonal festivals like Farsang, a Hungarian Carnival tradition.
Additionally, we're excited to announce the upcoming 12th Night Festival hosted by the SCA Barony of Bryn Madoc, taking place in Athens, Georgia, on January 3, 2026. (More information on this is coming soon!) Masks created at this A&S event will be perfect for the festival, which will feature a Hungarian Carnival (Farsang) theme.
Come get creative, learn about cultural mask traditions, and prepare for a season full of celebration and symbolism! All ages and skill levels are welcome.
We look forward to celebrating with you and embracing the artistry and history behind masks during this joyful season!
