The class is a lab-style, experiential, and activity-based workshop. Although the 3 hour social after the lab will be strictly Brazilian Zouk, the principles covered in the lab are applicable to many styles of partner dance. No partner is needed.
LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: this class is not a beginner class. Students should be proficient in Zouk basics. If you are unsure about your levels fit for this class, please reach out to an instructor. For the social, however, all levels are welcome!
Music Wise: For the Love of Zouk Socials lean more on the gooey-trancey and experimental side. Sets will be purchased pre-recorded sets from world-famous Zouk DJs that focus on continuous flow, and a rise and fall musical journey. They will play a variety of genres. In terms of music played, this is not an rnb heavy social, and is not a lambada heavy social.
What to know: Street parking, or take the metro. BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE. There is a place to fill up water, but there are no cups so please bring your own.
