Tonight, the ambassador is opening his home for an exclusive gala for our members. We are recreating a carnival celebration as if on the streets of Medellin! There will be food, an Open Bar, Carnival Dancers, Salsa Dance Instruction, a Diplomatic Greeting, a Late-Night DJ, and Much More!Plus a recreation of the Barranquilla Carnival!
FEATURING:
1) DIPLOMATIC GREETING:
His Excellency Ambassador Francisco Daniel García-Peña will personally welcome you to his home and offer remarks about his country and how to properly celebrate Carnival – Colombian Style!
2) COLOMBIA FOOD PREPARED BY A NATIVE CHEF:
VIP OPTION Tonight’s cuisine is hand-picked Colombian chef! Enjoy samples of exciting native Colombian food with desserts. These recipes are famous in Bogotá, Cartagena, and many regions of the country.
DESSERT ONLY: For a Lower Fee and Late Time Entry, we are offering a desert-only option of Colombian Delicacies!
3) OPEN COLOMBIAN BAR
A special taste of Colombian wine, beer, and other nonalcoholic drinks.
4) EXCLUSIVE COLOMBIAN CARNIVAL MUSICAL AND DANCE PERFORMANCE
Experience the music of special Colombian performers. We will experience the music and dance of Colombia. Special Carnival Dancers from Colombia will parade for us and allow us to experience their native celebration. They will include a dance presentation as we all join in the Carnival Parade!
5) SALSA LESSONS:
Preparing for the second part of the evening, an expert dance instructor will give us lessons in Salsa Dance!
6) LATE NIGHT DJ:
After the lessons, the DJ will play Salsa, Carnival, Colombian, and retro/trop 40 hits!
7) COLOMBIAN ART:
Throughout this beautiful residence, we will experience Colombian paintings and artifacts.
8) COLOMBIAN FILM:
Experience a film showcasing the beauty and culture of Colombia.
9) CARNIVAL COSTUME COMPETITION:For those who are in the true spirit and want to wear Carnival outfits, we will have a special costume contest with prizes!
Because of the nature of the event, we are limiting the number of people who attend. So, early registration is encouraged.
Note: This event is not being organized by the embassy ALl funds collected are going to help with the expenses of the event and are not going to the embassy at all. The embassy is not receiving any profit or funds towards this event.
