WHEN: 6:00 PM. Please arrive at least 30 min advance to inflate (if necessary).
WHERE: The launch ramp is located straight back once you enter the parking lot. There is a launch fee of $10 to be paid via QR code posted on ramp.
FOOD/DRINK: Pack a cooler & snacks! If you want to grab dinner prior, Island Time Bar & Grill in the marina building MAY be open.
NEON MERCH: Paddle DMV tanks & hats will be for sale again. Hats - $20, Tanks - $25. The yellow & orange hats looked the best at night. Luckily, I have several of those left. Let me know if you'd like to preorder/prepay.
MUSIC: We are seeking a reliable DJ with a boomin' speaker! Can't go without music this time!
ROUTE: We may paddle a short distance, but we're likely to just hang in the marina cove with a view of the Pentagon.
BRING YOUR OWN:
YOU MUST HAVE LIGHTS: Navigation lights (red & green) are not necessary, but a headlamp & a bright white light on the back of your board would be the most ideal so you can be seen from all directions.
BUNGEES/ROPES: It's helpful when linking up with other vessels.
ANCHOR: Also helpful if you have one.
DC FIRE: I will notify them that a large group of us will be out on the water after dark. As they have in the past, I would expect them to stop by. If you do not have lights, you will be found out. I get the warnings/talking-to for participants' negligence. Please do not put me in that position.
*This event is a self-supported paddle suitable for all levels. Participants will likely be encountering boat traffic and slight currents. Paddlers are required to have a Coast Guard approved I, II, III or V PFD and a whistle. As with any activity, there are risks and you assume responsibility for them and nobody from Paddle DMV will be held liable. In the event of an emergency, we will provide assistance.
