✹ 𝐙𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝟗 brings tenderness into aggressive chaos, crafting a sound that is as confrontational as it is emotive. Their live performances erupt with aggressive beats, witchy synths, and visceral vocal delivery that oscillates between an embrace and a slap in the face. The duo straddles the edge of experimental electronics and dark club aesthetics with audiovisual work that hides its painfully and openly intimate nature behind the overall disruptiveness. Their latest work incorporates vocals reminiscent of spiritual chants and leaning towards folk singing traditions. In March 2023, the Czechoslovak duo released their debut EP MILK on Weltschmerzen, a renowned Slovak experimental music label known for pushing the boundaries of sound. Since then, Zaffer 9 has developed a strong visual identity that complements their music’s intensity. This is especially evident in the music videos accompanying the tracks “ALLURE” and “DEPART,” which blend haunting imagery with raw emotional force. Their next creative outburst is on the horizon with the upcoming LP MOTHER LODE, released on June 6, 2025.
MOTHER LODE is so far their most personal and radical work, a map of their own fictioning landscape bending the boundaries between harsh dystopian sound and soothing promise of redemption. It’s s a drilling probe into the depths of long lost collective trauma and intimate rage that reflects itself through the lens of the digital era. Here, Zaffer 9 pull not gold from the ground, but something far more precious - elusive and heavy raw material that they translate unfiltered into layers of distorted synths, screams, pulsating beats and disturbingly beautiful moments of silence between notes.

✹ 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐨𝐋𝐀𝐫 is the embodiment of musical contrasts in physical form. A tangle of harsh sound design meets a gentle approach and a decorative touch. The resulting shape of this post-club duo is ultimately intricate and seemingly random, yet confident in its intentions. A confusing blend of sonic elements aims to leave behind a vague aftertaste—one that’s hard to shake off.
Their debut album, Dissymetria, is living proof of their experimental nature. Starting with gentle textures, the album gradually unfolds into full-bodied club music—an uncompromising journey that reflects their refusal to settle for anything less than complete conviction.
