⛓ what is the concept? ⛓
Between Top Rock/breaking, contemporary concepts—aesthetics and the world of manual labor, Hamdi has developed a dance practice focused on freedom and flow, centered on the relationship with other bodies and the floor, in a sense that ranges from the simplest to the most virtuosic and complex. He shares a technical approach created with and through footwork and effortless body motion, which allows him to establish a unique musicality for a unique group, like an organic and groovy puzzle, a dance and a jam that develop through improvisation, composition, and deconstruction of the choreographic tools in his repertoire of creations.
This practice simultaneously addresses warm-up and the appropriation of a vocabulary nourished by footwork, top rock, freestyle rock, breaking, and traditional dances, in their musical and sonic modulations... A workout using the rhythm of the body, in resonance with the floor, an exploration of a constant and proven imbalance inspired by the paths of his choreographic writing. He also draws inspiration from his mother and father, choreographic symbols of the physical gestures of daily life work, from the universe of William Forsythe and Trisha Brown, as well as from hip-hop culture and its treasured elements, offering this training through a dance that fuses these different universal aesthetics, teaching the tension and dialogue between movement and rhythm, a process that is at the heart of his latest creations.
