Women's Day Of Action - Rise Up For Pay Equity

Kia ora e te whānau! Let's rise up for pay equity!

Women's rights are under attack in the government's latest amendments to our pay equity legislation.

What it results in is continued poor pay for women doing essential work in female dominated industries. These are our precious teachers, nurses, care workers. The people who do the most essential work. Experts are saying this move has rolled the women's pay rights movement back 50 years.

So let's get out there and show them some love. We will meet on Taupo Quay with placards along with thousands of others across the motu (country) and demand the government repeal this harmful bill.

In addition to this rallying call, we will have a stall at the markets all day where you can come and show your support, learn and ask questions to our team of wonderful volunteers.
