I’ve chosen to call these pop-ups ‘free speech sessions’ as they reflect an important aspect of democracy that I believe in very strongly: the rights of all people to freedom of speech and expression, the importance of constructive disagreement, and the need for elected members and candidates to make themselves available to hear directly from you.

These are values that I’ve practised as a councillor, and they’re values that I’ll continue to practise as mayor.
