Join us for a fun and educational Try-It Event focused on Trailing & Locating and Shed Hunt practice! This hands-on session is perfect for handlers and dogs of all experience levels who want to explore these exciting events. You'll get an introduction to the fundamentals of Trailing & Locating—where dogs get to use their natural tracking abilities—and Shed Hunt, where dogs search for antlers in a realistic outdoor setting. Here you'll learn basic techniques, competition rules, and handling tips in a relaxed, supportive environment. Please note, this is not a sanctioned NASDA event, but an informal practice opportunity designed to help you and your dog build skills and confidence. Whether you're just getting started or looking to fine-tune your abilities, this event is a great way to bond with your dog and discover their potential. Please bring high-value treats, a long line or tracking leash, and be ready for a fun, engaging day with your dog!

Event Details: This is a relaxed, come-and-go style event running from 4:00 PM until dusk, so feel free to arrive and participate at your own pace. Whether you want to stay for the full session or just drop in for a quick run, you're welcome to join us when it works best for you. A water spigot will be available for dogs, and drinking water will be provided for participants, so everyone stays hydrated while having fun!

Disclaimer: Please be aware that this practice event will take place on an active working farm. While all livestock will be securely contained and inaccessible during the event, it is essential for the safety of all participants—both human and animal—that all dogs remain leashed and under the control of their handler at all times. Handlers are responsible for managing their dogs' behavior throughout the event. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the practice session.
