United Church's 2025-2026 Concert Season opens with a powerful solo piano recital by Virginia Zheng. Exploring the theme of musical origins, Virginia weaves together a program that traces influences across centuries and continents—from the vivid textures of Alexina Louie’s Music for Piano to the timeless elegance of J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 3, the stirring rhythms of Adolphus Hailstork’s Piano Sonata No. 2, and the profound depths of Schubert’s late Sonata in C minor, D.958.
Between works, Virginia will share reflections on the composers' background, her own musical journey, and the connections she finds within these diverse voices.
🎶 This concert launches our “Origin Stories” series, an opportunity to go deeper with performers and composers through interwoven stories about their backgrounds, inspirations, and artistic vision.
