Winter was a time of gathering indoors, having family time, and using the slower winter months as a time of teaching. Coyote stories were a method of teaching that was used. Lores of Coyote's travels, his experiences, his mistakes, and his triumphs all taught important information about social engagement, geographical locations, lifecycles, living experiences, working, responsibilities, community, humblness, pride, thankfulness, etc. Whitman College Native American Outreach and Harper Joy Theatre partner together to bring this annual event to campus and larger community to learn about and share in this important, traditional cultural method of teaching. Seating is limited, so make sure you sign up for seats through the ticketing link! The event is free and open to the public. The ticket process ensures you have a reserved seat due to limited seating capacity.
