Martin Stephenson & The Daintees ACOUSTIC TRIO - in Concert

40 years ago Martin Stephenson & The Daintees released their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Boat To Bolivia’.

Currently Martin and the band are on the road to celebrate the milestone with a 20 date UK and Ireland tour, with a few venues sold out.

In Spring 2026 Martin with be taking a stripped back acoustic Daintees trio out for more intimate surroundings, and we’re delighted that they have agreed to us hosting the show for them in Walkington!

Martin will recall memories of the inception of the album which saw its roots develop late 1985 in Liverpool during Martin’s time at Liverpool University.

It was there that a determined and aspiring young songwriter started to scribble down the bones of what for many Daintees fans became instant classics, before the finished product was released in all its glory in 1986.

Between performing the album in its entirety Martin will regale how the words and music began to come together, and the excitement of Kitchenware Records recognising its potential before releasing it to critical acclaim with legendary producer Gil Norton at the helm.
