Ryk McIntyre is a writer, performer, historical researcher, and tour guide at The Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, MA. As a poet, he has been published widely in anthologies and toured the US and Canada, was a member of New England’s first Slam Team in 1991, and did many Slam things. These days, as a guide and content writer for The Lizzie Borden House, he is more often seen in cemeteries and haunted houses. But, any time he thinks he’s out, poetry pulls him back in.
Craig A. Kirkland, professionally known as Amaziyah The Great, is a celebrated Jamaican poet, author, filmmaker, and performer originally from Spanish Town, Jamaica. His creative journey began on the vibrant stages of Jamaica, where he shared platforms with some of the nation’s most respected Reggae and Dancehall acts.
Amaziyah has become an international voice for truth, resilience, and cultural pride. As a multi-award-winning poet, he has earned recognition on both national and international stages. He is a two-time nominee for the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in Florida, a nominee for the National Spoken Word Awards in Chicago (Best Storyteller category), and a nominee for Best Poet at the Motif Rhode Island Spoken Awards. His debut book, Don’t Cry, published under his birth name Craig A. Kirkland, is available worldwide on Amazon.
Expanding his artistry into filmmaking, Amaziyah earned the prestigious Rhode Island Icon Award for his short film The Jamaican Poet, produced as part of the Providence 48 Hour Film Project. His work continues to merge storytelling, poetry, and visual art in ways that leave lasting impressions on audiences.
Amaziyah’s performances have electrified stages across Rhode Island, New England, and the Tri-State area. He has appeared at events such as SWAP Meet, Pawtucket Poetry, AfroVerse, Outspoken, Tell Your Truth, FundaFest, and JARI (Jamaican Association of Rhode Island). In 2023, he was honored with the Sarabita Merit Award in New York by Ah Time Ras Productions for his outstanding contribution to culture and the arts.
His powerful presence has also been felt at major festivals and cultural events, including Boston Jerk Fest, Florida Palm Beach Jamaica Independence, New Jersey’s Jamaica Day, and most recently Jamaica Emancipendence in Connectcut.
Through his commanding performances, captivating storytelling, and impactful delivery, Amaziyah The Great continues to inspire, uplift, and spread the spirit of Jamaica to audiences worldwide.
