Florence Beaumont - Talk, Coffee and Creative Activities offered by the Forgotten Women of Wakefield Team
The good weather is well and truly over and the team is moving indoors. We want to continue sharing our stories so come along and join us in the lovely, warm, welcoming space that is CoffeeWrite Cafe in Wakefield.
We'll tell you about the next two blue plaques, due to be unveiled in March 2026. That's right, we've raised enough money for two plaques, from the 'Round our Way' 2025 walks and other fundraising events.
There will be news about how you can join us at one of these events; tickets will be on sale via Eventbrite in due course.
The team is also preparing for its latest project and it's all about Florence Beaumont. If you've been on a Round our Way walk you might have an idea what we're up to, but learn more at this December event.
As ever, we'll be in costume and we'll share with you some of our favourite tales from all of our walks. We're happy to take requests if there's anything you'd like to hear again, or pick a card from the 'lucky dip' and put us on the spot!
The creative activties will be badge making, paints, keyrings and Christmas decorations. Nothing elaborate but something fun to enjoy with a drink and good company. Children are welcome.
Sweet treats and fruit will be provided for you to enjoy with your drink.
Finally, we'll share with you the 2026 dates for the walking tours, get the dates in your diary if there's one that you've missed.
Venue and Ticket Details
CoffeeWrite has two entrances, one on Marygate and one on Silver Street. Our workshops will take place on the upper level, using the Silver Street entrance, making them accessible to all.
This event is free to attend, we ask only that you buy a drink from CoffeeWrite to support a fabulous, independent local business. Sweet treats and fruit will be provided free of charge for all attendees.
If you'd like to make a donation there is an option to do so at the checkout but there is absolutely no expectation that you do so. This event is free to all.
There are three opportunities to join us on Tuesday, 2 December, select 1,2 or 3 at the checkout
Session 1 - 4pm to 5pm
Session 2 - 5pm to 6pm
Session 3 - 6pm to 7pm
These workshops are offered free of charge and you are free to come and go at anytime during the course of the evening.
