What’s the plan all about?
The plan is a 30+ year vision that has been created in partnership by NPDC, Manukorihi and Otaraua Hapū and the shaped by the Waitara Community. The plan will help guide how the community of Waitara will grow in the future.
The plan aims to tackle some big challenges facing Waitara by focusing on:
🏙️ Revitalising the town centre
🏠 Tackling housing shortages & creating jobs
🌳 Creating safe connections to parks, the coastline, and the awa
🌧️Reducing flood risks & upgrading infrastructure
📚 Improving community spaces like the library & pool
