After been constantly asked if I will sell my personal bonsais, we have decided to help those wanting to learn and get into bonsai.
Hence im organising a bonsai workshop ran by my self and a former Japanese Nippon Bonsai Association member/lecturer here in my workshop in Oamaru.
The idea of the workshop being you can pic out a starter tree and a starter pot and we will go over the basics of repotting, pruning, soil and caring for your tree
Lunch will be provided as part of the package from the amazing team here at Beyond A Bite ❤️
We will also have available to purchase, training wire, bonsai pruning/tools kits along side other ceramic pots and additional starter trees that have had pot training over the last 6 years
This is a great Xmas present/gift, start creating your self some amazing bonsai, these are an amazing thing to hand down to future generations ❤️
Cost is $149 per person
What do we get?
You will get a starter training pot of your choice
Choice of a hand picked a starter tree from a wide section provided.
A selection of supplies for training, drain grills, training wire, small ordainments.
LUNCH!! Yes you will be fed hahah!! The team from beyond a bite are onsite so we will provide lunch (please let us know if there are any dietary requirements)
3-3.5 Hours of initial training
David Maclean is from former Japanese Nippon Bonsai member and lecturer, David has spent his life training bonsai and last lectured back in 1999 we feel very honored to be able to bring him back out of retirement to speak and train people once again!
We will cover basic repotting, pruning and training basics and advice on how to keep you trees alive. This will be in a group setting limited to 16 people per workshop.
Follow up pop in session.
We will offer another drop in session where you can pop back in 1-2 months after first training your tree for follow up questions and pruning advice.
First workshop is limited to 16 attendees, we will consider an additional workshop on Sunday the 18th at the same time if this one fills up.
Location is inside at Streeter Concepts Signwriting and Design at 17 Coquet St. This will be held rain or shine inside the workshop here.
What do I need to bring?
We will provide all that you need to do the workshop.
If you have an existing tree please feel free to bring it in.
Tools to use on the day will be provided.
Additional starter trees will be available to purchase on the day.
We will have Bonsai pruning kits available to purchase before the event and on the day, these are a 6 piece kit consisting of Bonsai scissors, wire benders, along with 4 different cutters all in a hand carry bag. These kits are $149 each please be aware we have a limited number of these available.
