Champagne

We are very happy to invite you to my upcoming solo exhibition “Champagne” at Lyngby Art Association.

Opening reception 13 February, 4:00–5:30 pm.

Champagne carries an air of celebration, yet also leaves an aftertaste of something less festive. Katherine Whitehouse’s works embody the same contrast: at first glance, one sees glamour and beauty, but decay lurks just beneath the surface. Painting is used as a means of conveying thoughts that are difficult to express in ordinary words. The artist draws on her own experiences as subjects for the paintings, creating a narrative within a context inspired by films from the 1950s.
