Intro to Yin Yoga: A Psychoeducational Mind-Body Practice
This beginner-level Yin Yoga class integrates gentle physical movement with evidence-informed psychoeducation to support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and enhanced mind-body awareness.
Participants will engage in a series of slow, floor-based postures held for several minutes at a time to safely access the body’s connective tissues and promote stillness. Throughout the class, the instructor will provide brief, accessible education on topics such as:
• The physiological impact of chronic stress
• The role of the parasympathetic nervous system in recovery
• The connection between fascia, trauma, and emotional processing
• How mindful movement supports self-regulation and interoception
This class is ideal for individuals new to yoga, those seeking somatic support for mental health, or anyone interested in cultivating a deeper understanding of how the body and brain interact in moments of rest.
No prior yoga experience or specific flexibility required.
