About the workshop:
Join Governor General’s Award-Winning playwright Kevin Kerr in examining methods for creating engaging, effective dialogue in your play. By examining the function of dialogue in dramatic storytelling and considering the actor’s approach to interpreting the text, writers will be able to approach their dialogue writing and revisions with renewed playful confidence.

About the facilitator:
Kevin Kerr is an award-winning playwright, theatre maker and educator who has been creating works of theatre for nearly 30 years. Kevin has created more than 20 full-length plays through a wide variety of processes and in an eclectic range of styles, genres and forms. He currently teaches playwriting at the University of Victoria’s Department of Writing.
Intrepid Studio (1609 Blanshard St #2)
Intrepid Studio has level access to the building with a slight lip to go over when passing through the door. It also has two single user, all gender washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. The lobby is fully wheelchair accessible. The stage is on one level and is wheelchair accessible.

Impulse Theatre, and Peek Fest, seeks to create an anti-oppressive and queer-positive space for artists within the community. Impulse Theatre is pleased to offer up to 3 paid ($40) spots to arts workers who identify as queer, trans, non-binary, Indigenous, Black, a person of colour, neurodivergent, d/Deaf and/or disabled. Participants are limited to 2 workshops each.
Intake is on a first-come; first served basis until all spots are filled.
