Mike Allen Trio

Mike Allen’s tenor saxophone style blends lyrical phrasing with a modern harmonic sensibility, showcasing both emotional depth and technical precision. His tone is warm and focused, often drawing comparisons to the post-bop tradition while retaining a distinctly contemporary voice. In a trio setting, he utilizes space and dynamics masterfully, creating intimate yet explorative conversations with bass and drums. He will be joined by Victoria's extraordinary bassist and multi-instrumentalist, John Lee, alongside the pride of Nanaimo, drummer Graham Villette.
