Join us as Bob Joseph launches his new book "21 Things You Need to Know About Indigenous Self Government: A Conversation About Dismantling the Indian Act." Following the resounding success of his previous books, "21 Things You May Not Know About The Indian Act" and "Indigenous Relations: Insights, Tips & Suggestions to Make Reconciliation a Reality", this latest book emphasizes the importance of discarding the Indian Act, as well as the seamlessness of the potential transition to self-government.
Stemming from the hundreds of questions asked by readers of the original "21 Things You May Not Know About The Indian Act" Joseph's new book sets out to open the conversation about dismantling the Indian Act and this launch is an opportunity for an open discussion about what that would look like.
Given that 2026 will also mark 150 years since the Consolidated Indian Act of 1876, this discussion is more timely and important than ever.
