Herd and Hops Beer Mile

The 1st Annual Herd and Hops Beer Mile is a spirited, community-driven race that blends athleticism, fun, and West Virginia’s craft beer scene. Presented by the Marshall University Southern Coalfields Alumni Big Green Club and hosted by The Freefolk Brewery, the race will include a one-mile relay with a beer pit stop along the way! Each team member will run or walk 1/4 mile and chug a beer.

Every mile supports the mission to fund college scholarships for local students. The Southern Coalfields Club supports scholarships for students from Fayette, Summers, Raleigh and Wyoming Counties who attend Marshall University.
We invite you to gather a team of four, lace up your shoes and get ready to have some fun! All participants will receive an event t-shirt and a medal to commemorate this fun day!

Team names and costumes are encouraged! Best costume will win a prize!
