Christmas on Cherry Street: See the Star

My church, First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, recently rehabilitated and renovated its wonderful steeple. Star lights were installed in the top windows just in time for our Christmas celebration called Christmas on Cherry Street: See the Star. The night of music will be on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. A live nativity will be in the courtyard starting at 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 1607 Cherry Street in downtown Vicksburg.

I invite all those in the Vicksburg area to this glorious night of celebration! A 60-person choir (including singers from other area churches), orchestra, dancers, banners, children choirs and the story of Christmas will unfold during the performance. They are even letting me sing a solo!

If you are not in Vicksburg, I urge you to find a local church that is also celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and attend their special service. Step away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas to focus on the true reason for the season. It will put your heart in the right place and allow you to focus on what really matters -- your relationship with God, your family and your friends. -- Marty Kittrell
