The Requiem Mass or Miss pro Defunctis (Mass for the Dead), has been an inspiration for composers throughout the centuries. While some musical settings are suitable only for concert use, Faure’s can be adapted well to a liturgy context - a prayerful context for which it was intended. During the mass we will remember all those who have gone before us, marked by the sign of our faith. Over the past year, our parish has celebrated many funerals, and we remember all those souls in this Solemn Mass, as well the souls of our entire community.
