Lake Champlain Challenge Race

The only race on Lake Champlain for all human-powered boats! Join the Lake Champlain Challenge Race 2025 at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum on September 13 and race to set the fastest time in your category.

Race categories include:
• Coxed rowing gigs
• Fixed and sliding seat rowboats
• Kayaks
• Canoes
• Paddleboards
• Miscellaneous

The only true requirement is your boat must be propelled by human power, nothing else!

Awards will be given for fastest in each category and most creative race name. After the race, all are invited to a free lunch buffet, hosted by the Museum’s rowing clubs.

The Challenge Race is $30/person and payment will be collected in person at check-in on race day. Pre-registration for the Challenge Race is strongly encouraged to guarantee a spot in the race and lunch.
