The SFC Alumni Association is expanding to Venice!

We could not be more excited about introducing our Alumni Association to South County, come and learn how you can join us for mixer socials and service projects on our Venice Campus. ALL are warmly welcome to attend this introductory presentation and Q+A, with continental breakfast. Come and learn more about Senior Friendship Centers and this exciting new South County initiative!

We support Senior Friendship Centers in bringing joy to seniors of all ages.

By building and maintaining an Alumni Association, we will create a supportive and engaged community that will positively impact the present and future of Senior Friendship Centers.

Be an Ambassador, your experience makes you a powerful advocate!

As a valued part of our story, your involvement is instrumental to the continued success of the Senior Friendship Centers. Through the Alumni Association, you can volunteer your time, share your expertise, advocate for our programs – all of which enables the Senior Friendship Centers to serve more seniors in the communities we serve. We need you to continue to serve as powerful community advocates. Positive word-of-mouth from Alumni attracts prospective sponsors, staff, donors, members, caregivers, corporate partners and volunteers.

Preserve Our History, be a steward of our institutional history and traditions!

Alumni serve as a repository of institutional history and traditions, preserving the heritage of Senior Friendship Centers. Alumni offer insights into the evolution of Senior Friendship Centers and provide valuable perspectives, engagement, and feedback.

Time and Talents, participate through volunteering, attend events, or outreach!

Alumni have a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences that can be beneficial to the organization. These Alumni will offer their expertise through volunteering, ambassadorship, and outreach.

Friend and Fundraising, help us connect to new friends and support new initiatives! Our Alumni Association will foster a sense of community and pride among former and current center members, staff, donors, caregivers, partners, friends, and volunteers. Alumni events, e-news and social media will keep alumni engaged and connected to our organization.

Stay Connected, through alumni socials, educational events, participating in SFC events and following our organizational activities in our newsletter and on Facebook!

The SFC Alumni group was founded in April 2024, launching first in North County with cochairs Jane Icely (retired from SFC) and Georgann Nugent, Business Development Manager. The north county social calendar is facilitated with Alumni Advisory Ambassadors: Christine Schlesinger, Declan Sheehy, Kathy Pappas, Paula Falk, Debbie Anderson, Sunny O'Flynn, Virginia Stevens, Susan Phelps and Brandon Sisneros. We'll soon organize a vibrant SFC Alumni Advisory for south county also for fun, on purpose!

We've just celebrated our 2nd anniversary with a luncheon at the Van Wezel Foyer. Membership is only $25 annually (separate from being a Center member) and we look forward to growing the Venice area chapter with Alumni Association activities: Venice area socials, theatre outings, and service projects.
