Have you started your wheel-throwing journey but find certain steps frustrating? Maybe centering, opening, or creating even walls feels tricky—or you’re not sure how to use all your clay, trim the skirt, or stretch for width and bellies. If you’ve thrown on the wheel before but want guidance in smoothing out those and any other challenges, this workshop is for you!
Bring at least 2 issues you'd like to work on when you join Beth on Saturday, Oct. 25th from 10:00 to 1:00. Beth will spend one-on-one time with you to help you move forward. (This is not a beginner class.)
About the Learning Process
Wheel throwing is a skill that develops over time. No one creates a perfect piece on their first, second or even third try, but every step forward is worth celebrating! Think of each class as a building block toward greater confidence and creativity at the wheel.
Class Structure
3 hours (2.5 hours of instruction + 30 minutes cleanup).
Limited to 7 students (1 student per wheel) for plenty of personal guidance.
After class: Beth will trim, dry, bisque fire, glaze, and kiln fire 3 of your favorite new pieces. Please allow up to 4 weeks for the full process. You’ll be notified when your pottery is ready for pickup (must be collected within 90 days).
The $79 cost includes:
Clay, tools, and materials
Two kiln firings
One glaze color of your choice
Personalized instruction
What to Bring & Wear
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (clay washes out easily).
Apron (optional but helpful).
Long hair tied back, and rings/bracelets removed.
Short nails are ideal, but not required.

Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled
Registration allows for 1 person per class. Only those who have registered may participate.
Class starts promptly as scheduled.
At ARTworks Vass, you're always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up. We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven't requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery's discretion.
