Vashon Center for the Arts presents Balkan Night, a cultural celebration featuring groups from around the Pacific Northwest. This lively evening will showcase the traditional music, folk dances, art, and the food of the Balkan culture, which is found in the many diverse countries of southeastern Europe, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, much of Croatia and Serbia, mainland Greece, Northern Dobruja in Romania, and East Thrace in Turkey.
Featured groups include: Koleda Ritual dancers and singers, Bulgarian Voices of Seattle, Radost Folk Ensemble, Seattle Cheta, Tamburaški Orkestar Kišobran, Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble, Gino Yevdjevich, Hadjia Hamzić & Mario Butković.
Experience the rich traditions of Balkan culture! This event coincides with VCA’s gallery exhibit Balkan Voices by Martin Koenig. Be sure to arrive early and check out Martin’s work before the show.
