The Nechako Watershed Roundtable (NWR) Youth Engagement Group will co-host BC Rivers Day 2025 in partnership with the Vanderhoof Canoe & Paddling Club and the District of Vanderhoof. This collaborative celebration will highlight the importance of the Nechako River and promote water stewardship in the community.
Morning programming hosted by NWR will feature youth-focused games and activities centered on water health, recreation, safety and culture. Additional opportunities will include guided hatchery tours at the Nechako White Sturgeon Conservation Centre, Learn to Fish workshops, and educational seminars from the Northwest Invasive Plant Council, Nechako Valley Search and Rescue, and other local partners.
The Vanderhoof Canoe & Paddle Club will be having a paddle from Hwy 27 Bridge starting at 10a and arriving at the park around noon. In the afternoon the VCPC will host canoeing and paddle races. For more detail email:
