Join the WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener program for an on-the-road-tour and leave the driving to us!
Where does that new color of Echinacea or Heuchera come from? Join us on the September tour and you’ll find out.
Our first stop is Terra Nova, one of the world’s largest plant propagation companies. This research and development facility creates new varieties of plants and sells millions of them to wholesalers around the world. You will be amazed by their tissue culture processes and their huge greenhouses.
Up next is lunch (on your own) at Back Stop Bar and Grill in Canby, OR. Our final stop is another unique growing site: an experimental olive grove in Aurora. The site is operated by the OSU North Willamette Research and Extension Center and features 160 varieties of olives to determine which varieties grow best in our region. You will learn about their research processes, including more about other research activities on the 160-acre site. These sites are not open to the public, therefore no shopping opportunities. Participants should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
Vans depart from and return to the 78th Street Heritage Farm.
