Join ceramic artist Hope Wallace for a magical, two-part workshop where you’ll create your own ceramic fairy house—perfect for your garden, patio, or cozy indoor nook. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced clay artist, this class offers a creative, relaxed atmosphere for all skill levels.
Session One: Building & Shaping
Duration: ~2 hours
In the first session, Hope will guide you through the process of designing and building your unique fairy house using hand-building techniques from several pattern choices. Hope will show you how to create your own textures from scratch. Learn how to sculpt whimsical roofs, cut charming windows and doors, and craft chimney stacks or leafy embellishments. These structures are outdoor safe and can hold a votive candle for a magical glow.
Session Two: Glazing & Finishing Touches
Duration: ~1.5–2 hours
After your fairy house has been bisque-fired or if you choose to use the greenware technique, return for the second session to finish your creation. Hope will demonstrate glazing techniques and offer a variety of beautiful, weather-safe glazes to choose from. Add enchanting color, highlight textures, and make your house truly one-of-a-kind.
