SLUG returns to The Stanley Theatre on Friday, October 10, at 7 PM to celebrate 25 years of bringing their unique mix of jam band energy, roots rock, blues and bluegrass to Central New York. Presented by Apex Brewery, this special stage show, also a fundraiser for The Stanley Theatre, will culminate in a night of great music and a celebration of the arts.
Hailing from Utica and the CNY area, SLUG has been rocking in the spirit of the Grateful Dead and roots rock & roll since 2000. Although the lineup has changed, the “core three”- guitarist/vocalist Stephen “Fletch” Fletcher, drummer Bobby Moore and harmonica/vocalist “Genesee” Joe Trisolino - continue to lead the way. They are also rejoined by founding member guitarist Walt Darman, and the lineup is rounded out with 15-year member Mike Finley and new addition TJ Rycraft.
While their Grateful Dead influence is clear, SLUG has built a devoted following by carving out its own sound. This night not only celebrates their milestone 25th anniversary but also marks the release of their new album, “SLUG25.”
This one-of-a-kind stage show is capped at 200 lucky fans and offers a fun and intimate experience, giving SLUG fans the chance to be up close and personal with the band while enjoying the stunning backdrop that is The Stanley Theatre. A full bar and light fare will be available, making it the perfect setting for a night of music, celebration and community.
General admission tickets to this exciting fundraiser are $25 in advance ($30 door) and available at The Stanley Theatre Box Office (259 Genesee Street), by phone at 315-724-4000, or online at Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). Tickets are limited, so don’t wait to get yours!
