The Rose Bowl Tavern and the Council of the Corn King call you to gather! For one day only, the Rose Bowl will become the site of a unique harvest celebration, inviting you to share in ritual and revelry. To prepare for the coming Eternal Harvest, the all-powerful Corn King has granted The Council permission to bring news of the His return to the outside world! While the Corn King generally frowns upon intoxicating liquors and the profanity of modern music, please join us at the Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana, IL on Sunday, September 28, 2025, for a special informational and cultural event called CornStock.

“CornStock” is a conceptual artistic event that explores the intersection of monocultural agriculture industries and artificial intelligence technologies, and their impact on our environmental and cultural worlds.
As an immersive satire, this event takes the shape of a traditional harvest festival secretly operated by an agricultural megacorp, using AI to simulate a "grass-roots" culture of devotion to corn. CornStock’s art installations, dramatic performances, and interactive experiences present a broader storyline that, taken together, will hopefully allow attendees to consider the costs of our participation in these systems in a way that is critical but still feels “fun”. AI tools have been used to deliver certain aspects of the event in order to align with this premise, but our goal is to use them in service of raising greater awareness of the issues attached.
We encourage you to stick around for the “Incantation/Finale” before the final musical act, where more answers to be revealed. For those who are interested in learning more about what you can do at the local level, we invite you to speak with the Prairie Rivers Network representatives at their event booth. Proceeds from our (hand-made) merch will go to support them in their mission!
