Summary: The holidays are always a wild family affair at the Shealy house. But this year, Dotty and her three grown children gather with more than exchanging presents on their minds. As Dotty struggles to hold on to her memory, her children must fight to balance care for their mother and care for themselves. This twisted and hilarious new play grapples unflinchingly with aging parents, midlife crises, and the heart of a West Philly neighborhood.

- The Station Theatre is casting 7 roles (4 Female and 3 Male) ages 20s-80s.
- No roles are precast, all roles are open.
- Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, September 14th at 10am but may not be necessary.

NOTE: Dot contains adult language, discussions of Alzheimer’s and memory loss, alcohol use, and themes of family conflict. The play also includes frank conversations about sexuality, pregnancy, and death.

To Audition: You do not need to prepare a monologue. Instead, you will be asked to perform readings from the script at the audition. Please review the sides (link below) and look at all character descriptions before auditioning. We will have actors up and down to read multiple times in multiple combinations and scenes. As space allows, you will be able to watch the auditions. Actors may be asked to “work” on a scene with a scene partner during the audition. Actors may be asked to read for multiple roles. If an actor is only interested in one specific role, please remind the director or stage manager during auditions. The Station Theatre strives to make our productions open to all levels of actors regardless of experience. The Station Theatre works hard to make the audition experience a fun and relaxed experience.

2-3 understudies - These roles are critical in the case that we have actors unexpectedly unable to perform a show due to illness or another cause. These will be script-in-hand understudy roles which means you do not need to fully memorize the show. You will be required to attend 4 rehearsals, including one tech in December, to make sure you understand the staging for the character(s) you are understudying. Understudies also need to be in town and available during the scheduled performances. You are welcome to attend any rehearsals and activities for the show.

Note on Rehearsals: First rehearsal will be October 20th. Rehearsals will tentatively run Monday-Thursday, 6pm-9pm (subject to change pending casting.) Not all actors will be called every night at first.

Conflicts: Please list all conflicts between October 20th and December 21st (after 5pm M-Th, all day for Saturday & Sunday) on your audition form. We do not plan to regularly rehearse on weekends but would like listed conflicts just in case.

Again, please make sure you have signed up for an audition slot time.
