Welcome back everyone, to another event at Benwermarnas, this time we are going to have some special guests that are going to give an introductory class in Brazilian Zouk! :D
We are verry happy to introduce you all to some new dances once in a while and with Chris and Sofia you will be in good hands!
The second class for this Värmlands event will be a special Brazilian zouk workshop with Chris and Sofia from the group Uppsala Zouk chill. They are already well known in Uppsala as teachers of latin dance, teaching regular classes in bachata moderna. They have spent the last year and a half intensively studying and practicing Brazilian zouk, and now they want to share their passion and energy for the dance with you! The level will be prova på and open for everybody to try.
If you, or if you know someone who have ever wanted to try out dancing, then we here at Benwermarnas offer the perfect opportunity to do so!
Benwermarna offer COMPLETELY FREE classes and social dances in both Bachata and Salsa.
We are allways in the habbit on quickly going thru the basic steps in the beginning of our classes for the new people to be able to catch up.
Our goal is to take you from a stumbling potato to a latin dance star! 😃

- No prior dance experience needed.
- No dance partner in advance required, we will pair up there.
- No nation card required, anyone can join student or not.
The classes start for complete beginners and we will progress the level throughout the semester accordingly.
Schedule:
13:00 - 14:00: Salsa Cubana class by Ricardo and Katerina.
14:00 - 14.15: Break with some Salsa music. You've just learned a new dance, take a break, or try using what you just learned to music!
14:15 - 15:15: Brazilian Zouk class by Chris and Sofia
15:15 - 15:30: Break withZouk music. You've just learned a new dance, take a break, or try using what you just learned to music!
15:30 - 17:30: Social dancing where we will play a mix of Salsa, Bachata and Zouk.
Dance descriptions:
Cuban salsa is characterized by its high energy, its circular movements and joyful spirit. It's danced all across the world, and it is particularly popular in Uppsala and Stockholm, with dance events occurring almost daily. Ricardo and Katerina will transform you into a salsa superstar.
Brazilian zouk was developed in Brazil in the early 1990s, originating from lambada with influences from other dance styles. It is a beautiful, fun and flowing partner dance with great variety and technical development, whilst allowing for improvisation and self-expression.
