Are you ready for a challenge?
Leading up to the annual Piggyback Dash 10, 5K, 2K presented by Cregger Family Dentistry, we are holding a FREE virtual challenge July 26-27. What better way to train for our main event in September than by doing some hills. The challenge is pretty simple...run up Autumn Hill as many times as you can over July 26-27.
If you're not local to the area, then no worries. Autumn Hill is 103ft* of elevation gain. You can find a hill in your local area or just head out for a hilly route. Every 103ft of gain you achieve on your run(s) will count as 1 rep/lap of Autumn Hill. For example, if you run 5 miles with a total of 412ft of elevation gain that would equate to 4 reps of Autumn Hill. If you run 15 miles, but it's primarily flat and you finish with 118ft of elevation gain then that only counts as 1 rep of Autumn Hill. Remember, you can log as many activities as you wish within the time period.
It's all about your total elevation gain, not your total distance. Elevation gain is the total height you climb on a run. Elevation gain can be tracked by most fitness trackers and running watches (Garmin, Fitbit, etc). It can also be tracked by most smart phones. Some apps you can use include Strava, Garmin Connect, Map My Run, and many more.
*103ft of elevation gain is based on the Strava segment "Autumn Hill (crosswalk to crosswalk)." Keep in mind, GPS data can vary from device to device and app to app. It can also vary based on your specific route up the hill so you may end up with more or less elevation gain each time you do the hill.
What do I get?
The more elevation you gain then the more money you save. You will receive $1 off your Piggyback Dash 10, 5K, 2K (9/27/25) registration for every time you run up Autumn Hill or achieve 103ft of elevation gain. Maximum discount you can receive is $15, but this doesn't mean stop at 15 reps of Autumn Hill. The male and female with the most repeats or elevation gain will receive FREE registration for this year's Piggyback Dash 10K, 5K, 2K. Unfortunately, if you are already registered then you can not apply this as any sort of refund. However, you can still participate and pass the coupon code along to someone else who isn't registered yet. Coupon codes will be emailed out after the submission period is over.
Even though this challenge is free you must be registered in order to participate and be eligible for any discounts.
