The Carroll County Lady Anglers are a local group of women who formed a team in 2023, to fish in the Poor Girls' Open in OC, MD -an all-female billfish tournament which raises awareness and money for breast cancer research. We fished in 2023 - placing 5th, 2024, 2025. (

Their group has evolved into more than just fishing, but also supporting the breast cancer fundraising efforts. A few of our team members have experienced this illness themselves, or have been touched through close family members.
This event will also include dessert, money, and basket raffles to be donated directly to the breast cancer foundation in August 2026.
