Watercolour materials. Options and how to choose

I am about to offer a series of Saturday workshops First up WATERCOLOUR MATERIALS. There is so much gear available now and it is very confusing even to those of us who have decades of experience with watercolour. Are the Japanese watercolours (eg Gansai Tambi) the same as traditional Winsor and Newton etc? Is pure cotton paper worth the cost? What brush should I use? How does traditional watercolour differ from gouache, liquid acrylic, ink or acrylic paint or even some newer pan watercolours. Tubes or pans? Which colours?

As an artist who loves to experiment I can't resist trying everything. The truth is they are all fun to use but different choices need to be made depending on the style of watercolour you want to do. As an ex Science teacher I love to analyse and understand why and the how. Maybe I am the Dr Karl of watercolour

Saturday February 28th 10.30 a.m to 3.30 pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
