The theme of this Retreat is the journey to reveal and embody the archetype of the ‘benevolent king.’
A benevolent king is a man characterised by their kindness, compassion, and fairness in governing and prioritising the well-being of those around them with wisdom and justice.
Key aspects of a benevolent king include:
Compassion and Care: They are deeply concerned with the welfare of others and act with empathy and understanding, treating all individuals with respect.
Fairness and Justice: A benevolent king governs with a sense of equity, ensuring laws are applied impartially and decisions are made with the best interests of the populace in mind.
Wisdom and Prudence: They are often depicted as wise and thoughtful leaders who make decisions with careful consideration for the long-term prosperity of all involved.
Modesty and Humility: Unlike rulers who might flaunt their power, a benevolent king typically possesses a gentle demeanor and doesn't feel the need to assert their power. They lead with integrity and authenticity and it is this embodiment that makes them powerful men.

Within this retreat we explore the Jungian analysts Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette’s model of healthy embodied masculinity through the lens of four mature male archetypes that stand out through myth and literature across history:
The king - the energy of just and creative ordering.
The warrior - the energy of assertive but nonviolent action.
The magician - the energy of initiation and transformation.
The lover - the energy that connects one to others and the world.
Men that have embodied these qualities of the archetypes above seek to empower others, they lift others up, they look for the best in others and call it forth. They have no need to compete because they know their own worth. These men are devoted to building a better culture for the next generation.
