2025 Oregon Wheat Foundation Baking Contests
Rules of the Contest:
Professional bakers are not allowed to enter.
Food is to be placed on a paper plate and in either a plas􀆟c
bag or covered with plas􀆟c wrap.
The muffins MUST s􀆟ll have the paper wrappers on. 1 loaf of bread or 4 muffins is required.

Juniors: 7-13 Years
Adults: 14 and Up

Prizes:
Adults: 1ST $100.00 2nd $75.00 3rd $50.00 (Bread only)
Juniors: $50.00 $35.00 $25.00 (Muffins only

Juniors Entry: (Class 2700) Blueberry Sour Cream Muffins (4)
Blueberry Sour Cream Muffins
Servings: 12-14 regular sized muffins
Ingredients:
2 large eggs (at room temperature)
1 cup sugar
½ cup canola oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups of all-purpose our
½ teaspoon table salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup sour cream
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
Plus 1/3 cup berries for the top.
Direc􀆟ons:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line muffin 􀆟ns with 12-14 muffin paper liners
2. In a large mixing bowl beat eggs
3. Gradually add sugar
4. While bea􀆟ng, slowly pour in oil; add vanilla.
5. Combine the next 4 dry ingredients (our, salt, baking soda and baking powder) in a completely
mixed. Don’t overmix.
6. Very gently fold in the blueberries
7. Fill 12-14 muffin cups ¾ full
8. Press a few extra blueberries into the top of each muffin.
9. Bake for 18-20 minutes un􀆟l lightly browned and a toothpick inserted comes clean
10. Cool at least 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
11. Store le􀅌overs in an air􀆟ght container for up to 3 days. Freeze if desired.

Adults entry: (Class 2400) Honey Wheat Bread - 1 loaf Honey Wheat Bread
Servings 2 loaves (8 ½” x 4 ½” pans)
Ingredients:
2 ½ teaspoons ac􀆟ve dry yeast or instant yeast
3/8 cup lukewarm water (98-105 degrees)
our1 ½ cup whole wheat our
1/3 cup uncooked steel cut oats
½ cup instant non-fat milk
2 teaspoons table salt
1/3 cup honey
6 tablespoons bu􀆩er (cut into very small pieces)
1 ½ cups water (very hot-boiling)
1 egg, (at room temperature) beaten with a fork
4 – 4 ½ cups our (all-purpose or bread our)
1 teaspoon melted bu􀆩er (for loaf top)
