We're excited to welcome the Idaho Community Care Program as they present Powerful Tools for Caregivers in partnership with the Idaho Commission on Aging. This is a six-week class series designed specifically for caregivers. Classes are from 1 pm - 3 pm every Wednesday beginning October 8th. This class comes with materials, so registration is required. Participants will learn practical tools and strategies including:
Tips to reduce stress
Improving self-confidence
Communicating more effectively with the care receiver
Navigating tough decisions and family dynamics
Finding and using community resources
Making tough decisions
Caregiver burnout is real – this program provides support and skills to help caregivers take better care of themselves.

Oct. 8th: Taking Care of You - Emphasizes that the focus is on YOU, the caregiver.
Oct. 15th: Identifying and Reducing Stress - Four steps for effective stress management.
Oct. 22nd: Communicating Feelings, Needs, and Concerns - Learn how to use "I messages and "You" messages.
Oct. 29th: Communicating in Challenging Situations - Two communication tools, assertiveness and Aikido.
Nov. 5th: Learning From Our Emotions - Our emotions are messages we need to listen to.
Nov. 12th: Mastering Caregiving Decisions - Focus on the internal emotional process.
