Working as patrols, this hands-on course gives adult leaders the practical outdoor skills needed to guide Scouts in the outdoors.
📌 Course Details
When: Saturday–Sunday (Registration opens 8:00 AM Saturday; program begins at 9:00 AM. Ends Sunday at 11:30 AM)
Who: Required for all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops (with Scoutmaster Specific Training) to be considered fully trained
📚 What You’ll Learn:
- Outdoor skills required for Scouts to achieve First Class rank
- Cooking, camping, and Scoutcraft skills in a patrol-based setting
- Practical leadership experience for supporting troop programs
🍽️ Meals & Gear Provided:
- Course provides chuck boxes, food, lunch, dinner, breakfast, and cracker barrel
- Participants will cook dinner and breakfast with their patrol
- Coffee and snacks provided Saturday morning (please eat before you arrive)
📝 Requirements:
- Completed BSA Medical Form (Parts A & B)
- Current Youth Protection Training certificate
- Notify course director of any food needs (allergies, vegetarian, etc.)
