Beauty & Decay: An Intergenerational Collaborative Showcase

You are invited to a literary reading and opening reception for a creative exhibition featuring original works by local Tuscaloosa artists and UA Undergraduate Creative Writing students.

For the project, student writers did a mini residency at the Natural History Museum & Museum Collections, where they were asked to reflect in writing on they concept of "beauty & decay" in the natural world. They then exchanged their poetry with local Tuscaloosa artists; both the artists and the writers were asked to craft creative "response pieces" inspired by each others' work. The exhibit features literary and artistic pieces in a wide range of mediums, from writers and artists spanning generations.

The reception will begin at 6PM, with a literary reading kicking off in the Canterbury Chapel Student Center at 6:20. The exhibit will be on display in Canterbury's Betak-Frangoulis Gallery through January, 2025.
