We begin with our featured poets and then proceed to our open mic where anyone where all are welcome to take the stage and present their work in the language of their choosing.
Emmi Elomäki on runoilija ja kirjailija, jonka teksteissä tunteet virtaavat kuin puro – joskus kevyesti solisten, toisinaan syvinä ja painavina virtoina. Hänen esikoisrunoteoksensa, Maistan jo sinut sieluni kielellä, ilmestyi maaliskuussa 2025. Teos on 17-28-vuotiaan tupakan- ja viinintuoksuinen matka rakkauden, kaipuun ja hukassa olemisen läpi kohti omaa itseä. Teoksessa vaikeitakin hetkiä keventää hersyvä huumori, leikkisyys ja elämänilo. Runoista huokuu hehkuva rakkaus, joka kantaa läpi ihmissuhteiden ja oman minuuden etsinnän. Tällä hetkellä Elomäellä on työn alla seuraava runoteos ja romaani, joka kertoo etäisyydestä, rakkaudesta ja perhesuhteista.
Emmi Elomäki is a poet and writer whose work lets emotions flow like a stream — sometimes gently murmuring, at other times as deep and powerful currents. Her debut poetry collection, Maistan jo sinut sieluni kielellä, was published in March 2025. The book traces a smoke- and wine-scented journey from ages 17 to 28 through love, longing, and the feeling of being lost and ultimately, toward the self. Moments of darkness are softened by vivid humor, playfulness, and a fierce joy of life. The poems glow with a passionate love that carries through relationships and the search for identity. Elomäki is currently working on a second poetry collection and a novel exploring distance, love, and family ties.
