WEAVING THREADS INTO A TAPESTRY FOR LIFE
For individuals and those who are partnered who want to strengthen their capacity to love themselves and others, these threads will explore how to weave a tapestry of life rich with balance, communication, love, healing and discovery. Join us as we explore the threads of life that create long lasting bonds of intimacy and love. These sessions will offer realistic ideas and activities to promote better understanding, communication, self-awareness, AND an openness to building and maintaining a connection with yourself and others.
Info: Explore a holistic approach to love, intimacy, and life. Balance is important in life! We will discuss the balancing act of living and loving with one's Mind, Body, Spirit and Heart. Is it possible to give equal attention to each Dimension? How about living with equity in each Dimension of life?
Info: Intercourse is a relational opportunity and not always about sex; it can be about Communication. Communication is a critical aspect of any relationship, from self-awareness to interacting with a life partner, family or co-workers. In this thread, we will explore The Five Love Languages, healthy communication styles, conflict management when we disagree and identify some helpful strategies and techniques for improving communication.
Info: Using the Four Loves identified by C. S. Lewis with the Greek words Storge, Philia, Eros and Agape, we will examine four distinct kinds of relationships and discuss how we can build relationships of love and intimacy based on Affection, Friendship, Passion/Pleasure and Charity.
Info: In the final session of our tapestry weaving, we will discuss how not all threads are the same as we look at non-traditional ways of relating, loving and experiencing intimacy. By exploring topics like non-monogamy (open, consensual, ethical), polyamory, BDSM, swinging, and other non-traditional pathways, we will explore the challenges, pleasures, pitfalls and benefits of weaving a unique (and sometimes controversial) thread into the otherwise "vanilla" tapestries of life.
