More About Mark Gibson:
Mark Gibson is a Tulsa-based singer-songwriter known for his soulful blend of blues, gospel, and rock 'n' roll. He started playing guitar at 14 years old, which quickly led him down the path of songwriting. By the time he was in his late teens, he was releasing various demos and home studio recordings on shoestring budgets. He refined his songwriting while in college and after graduation, he moved to Austin, TX (2005) and formed the band Meridianwest. The band found regional success and released various EPs and live recordings. Gibson left the band in 2009 and embarked on a solo career. After releasing a few singles, his debut album, Beautifully Deconstructed, was released in 2012. Since moving back to Tulsa (2012), he’s become a consistent force in the music scene. In the midst of a constant and busy show schedule, Gibson managed to release Blue Eyed Soul (2016), Live from Soul City (2018), and Hymnals from the Plains (2021). His music has been featured on NPR and various college radio stations, and his song Hymn for America (Change) was a 2022 runner-up in the International Songwriting Competition for "Social Causes.” A new studio album and a live release are on the horizon for 2026. Gibson also produces other artists and performs with The Holdouts.
